AIO 5 BMW Play reseting Trip 1 mileage to 0 on my BMW 750GS
My Chigee AIO5 BMW Play firmware is 1.71. My bike is a 2021 BMW F750GS. Chigee is connected to the BMW GPS Prep unit.
When the Chigee boots up, it resets my BMW TFT Trip 1 to 0. The trip meter will not register any mileage for the ride. When I disconnect the Chigee, the Trip 1 will count mileage normally. I've had the Chigee for over a year and this has never happened before. I believe the recent firmware update to 1.7.1 caused this malfunction.
I tried all sorts of fixes (disconnecting the battery, disconnecting the TFT, replacing the battery) and never realized it was the Chigee. Took it into the dealer to see if a software update would fix it and the techs realized it was the Chigee that was causing the Trip 1 to reset. Had to spend $130 at the dealer to figure out it was the Chigee's fault! I am not happy about having to spend $130 to find out it's the Chigee that was causing this malfunction and not the bike's software.
