Clarify AA / Carplay usage of external GPS as mentioned in - gps-module-chigee-display
Key Points to Remember
- The GPS module works only with the CHIGEE Display to support internal functions like time, speed, and distance.
- It cannot be used separately as an external GPS device.
This seems to suggest we are not using the external GPS when using Android Auto or Carplay. I assumed the AIO5 device was acting as a location provider for AA/CP as it normally does in cars.
@Chigee If this is the case why was this choice made? I think it also needs to be clarified because then you should keep your phone in a place which ensures it gets a good signal, not a box or backpack underneath things.
