What do the functions Time and Trip do?

That is, what exactly are they recording? Is it the current time active or overall time. 

Please have a look at the attached photo. It shows a time of 21 minutes. That is displayed as soon as the bike is started and the Chigee AIO-5 Lite is turned on.

Can this trip and time be reset? I long press on it and nothing happens?
