Set Up BSD(Blind Spot Detection)

Set Up BSD(Blind Spot Detection)

The Blind Spot Detection (BSD) system is available on the following Chigee Display models:
  • AIO-5 Lite
  • AIO-6 (only when a rear camera is installed)
BSD is based on camera visual recognition technology, meaning no additional radar sensors are required. This simplifies installation while maintaining a clean, integrated look.

Rear Camera Installation

BSD relies on the rear camera to detect vehicles approaching from behind. Correct installation is essential for accurate performance.

Step 1: Set Camera Height

Install the rear camera at a height of 60–90 cm (24–35 inches) from the ground.

Step 2: Adjust Camera Angle

  1. Sit on the motorcycle to compress the suspension naturally.
  2. Go to Settings > Features > BSD, and enable the calibration line.
  3. Adjust the camera tilt until the red guideline extends 8 meters behind the motorcycle.
Note: If your BSD alerts are not accurate, try adjusting the angle of the rear camera so that it directly captures vehicles approaching from behind.

BSD Parameter Settings

Navigate to:
Settings > Features > BSD

Here, you can configure alert sensitivity and speed-based activation.

Sensitivity Settings

  • Standard: Alerts only when your speed is above the threshold and an approaching vehicle is detected behind.
  • High: Triggers alerts as long as a vehicle is in the detection zone and your speed is above the threshold — regardless of whether it’s approaching.

Speed Activation Settings

  • Always On: BSD is active at any speed.
  • 20 km/h: BSD activates only when riding above 20 km/h.
  • 30 km/h: BSD activates only when riding above 30 km/h.
  • 50 km/h: BSD activates only when riding above 50 km/h.
⚠️ Note: If you enter a tunnel or area without GPS signal, and BSD is not set to “Always On”, the system may temporarily pause BSD alerts. Please ride with caution in such conditions.

Fine-Tuning for Accuracy

Due to installation height differences, detection accuracy may vary. You can fine-tune the camera angle to reduce false or missed alerts.

Adjustment Tips:

  • Too many false alerts for distant vehicles?
→ Slightly tilt the rear camera downward.

  • Nearby vehicles not triggering alerts?
→ Slightly tilt the rear camera upward.

Make sure the camera is as close as possible to the recommended installation height for best results.

⚠️ BSD System Disclaimer

The BSD system is designed as a riding assistance feature, not a substitute for rider awareness or safe riding habits. While highly effective, it may occasionally produce false positives or miss detections.

Riders should not rely solely on BSD. Always:

  • Check mirrors
  • Turn your head to visually check blind spots
  • Use turn signals appropriately
  • Adjust speed based on riding conditions
BSD is a helpful supplement — not a replacement for safe riding practices.
