Dashcam Keeps “Locking” While Riding (Beep/Camera Sound + Lock Icon)

If your CHIGEE display keeps beeping like a camera and shows a lock icon during rides, the G-Sensor (Collision Lock) is being triggered repeatedly by bumps. Lower the vibration/impact sensitivity or turn it Off to stop constant lock events.

Applies to: Models with built-in dashcam, e.g., AIO-5 Lite, AIO-6 (with camera)

What You’re Seeing

  • A padlock icon appears on screen.
  • You hear a shutter/beep sound.
  • Clips are marked “locked” (protected) and won’t be overwritten by loop recording.

Why this happens:
The dashcam’s Collision Lock (G-Sensor) protects footage when it detects a sudden shock. On rough roads or off-road, Medium/High sensitivity can trigger constantly, so the device keeps locking clips and beeping.

Fix — Reduce G-Sensor Sensitivity (or Turn It Off)

  1. Open the Dashcam view on your CHIGEE display.
  2. Tap the screen to bring up the on-screen menu.
  3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon.
  4. Find Collision Lock / G-Sensor Sensitivity (may appear as Vibration Lock).
  5. Set to Low or Off (recommend Low for street, Off for very rough terrain).
After lowering sensitivity, the lock icon and beeps should stop appearing constantly. Locked clips already saved will remain protected unless you manually unlock/delete them.
