Android Auto: Keep Your Intercom Working (Requires Dual-Bluetooth Headsets)

TL;DR: With Android Auto, rider-to-rider intercom works only if your headset supports dual Bluetooth channels (multipoint).
If your intercom stops after connecting the CHIGEE Display to Android Auto, first confirm your headset supports dual Bluetooth.

Why this matters

Android Auto typically uses two links on your headset (phone→audio + display→mic/assistant).
Without dual-Bluetooth/multipoint, the headset runs out of connection slots and intercom with your passenger won’t work.

Known headsets that support dual Bluetooth

  • Cardo Packtalk Bold
  • Sena SRL03
(Other models may work—check the manual for “dual Bluetooth,” “multipoint,” or “two simultaneous connections.”)

Quick check & fix

  1. Check specs: Your headset must say dual Bluetooth / multipoint (not just “can pair with two devices,” but simultaneous).
  2. Update firmware in the headset’s app.
  3. Pair in order:
    • Pair Phone ↔ Headset (calls/media).
    • Pair CHIGEE Display ↔ Headset (for assistant/mic).
    • Reconnect your passenger intercom.
  4. If your headset isn’t dual-Bluetooth:
    • Unpair Display ↔ Headset during rides where intercom is required (keep Phone ↔ Headset only), or upgrade to a dual-Bluetooth model.
InfoNote (CarPlay): Pair headset ↔ iPhone only; intercom usually remains available.
