Troubleshooting GPS Signal Issues (AIO-5 Lite External GPS Module)

If your AIO-5 Lite shows no GPS signal or a GPS error, follow the steps below to identify and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check Installation

  • Do not install the GPS module under carbon fiber or behind metal surfaces.
  • Ensure the TOP side of the module faces the sky.
  • Keep the module away from the main unit, camera, and wiring to avoid interference.
  • Use 3M adhesive to secure the module inside the motorcycle shell, with the TOP side facing upward.

Step 2: Confirm Environment

  • Perform the satellite search outdoors in an open area. Indoor use will block the GPS signal.
  • Depending on weather conditions, initial satellite acquisition may take 3–10 minutes. This is normal.

Step 3: Evaluate Signal Behavior

  • Cold Start: If the device has been powered off for more than 30 minutes, a new satellite search is required (3–10 minutes).
  • Hot Start: If restarted within 30 minutes, the device should connect much faster using saved satellite data.

Step 4: When to Request a Replacement

If you have:

  • Installed the GPS module correctly,
  • Tested the device in an open outdoor location,
  • Waited for the normal acquisition time,

…but the module still cannot acquire a GPS signal, please contact us to request a replacement GPS module.
