AIO-6 LTE 4G Requires a Physical SIM (Region-Locked — Local SIM + Data Plan Needed for Cross-Region Travel)

Overview

AIO-6 LTE supports 4G connectivity, but it requires a physical SIM card to work.
To use any 4G/LTE features, you must insert a physical nano-SIM—either:
  1. the CHIGEE-provided SIM (where available), or
  2. a local SIM you purchase yourself.

Data plan required

A SIM card alone is not enough. You also need an active mobile data plan from the SIM provider (CHIGEE or your local carrier). Without a data plan, 4G features will not work.

Region-lock rule (important for international trips)

The CHIGEE-provided physical SIM is region-locked. It can only be used within the region it was issued for and cannot be used across regions.

Example: USA SIM → Europe/UK motorcycle trip
If your device includes a USA CHIGEE SIM, and you travel to Europe (EU/EEA) or the United Kingdom, the USA SIM will not continue working there.
To keep 4G service during your trip, you will need to buy a local Europe/UK SIM and purchase a local data plan, then insert the SIM into the AIO-6 LTE.

What to do when traveling across regions

  1. Purchase a local SIM for the region/country where you’ll be riding.
  2. Choose and activate a mobile data plan with that carrier.
  3. Insert the SIM into your AIO-6 LTE.
  4. If prompted, configure basic carrier settings (such as APN), depending on your SIM provider.
