What’s happening
Most “restarts while riding” are not hardware faults. A rare software exception can freeze the system; the built-in watchdog then auto-restarts to recover.
Step 1 — Update first
- Go to Settings → System Update and install the latest firmware.
- Reboot once after updating and test again.
Step 2 — Reproduce the Issue and Upload Debug Logs
1. Enter Debug Mode
- Go to the main screen of your Chigee Display.
- Tap 10 times on the time display in the upper-right corner.
- A popup will appear: “Enter Debug Mode” — tap Confirm.
- The device will automatically restart.
2. Reproduce the Issue and Upload the Logs
- After reboot, a red Debug icon will appear at the top of the screen.
- Recreate the exact scenario that triggered the issue: Ride normally (or safely simulate) until a reboot occurs.
- Then Tap the Debug icon.
- A popup will appear — tap Upload Logs.
- The device will start searching for a Wi-Fi network.
- ⚠️ When reproducing an issue, please upload the debug log immediately after the disconnection occurs. Do not power the device off and on repeatedly before uploading the log. Multiple reboots will overwrite the record of the issue, making it impossible for us to analyze the problem accurately.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi and Complete Upload
- Select your Wi-Fi and enter the password.
- Once connected, the log upload will begin automatically.
- Wait until you see the message: “Upload Successful”.
4. Submit Required Information
After completing the upload, please send us the following details so our engineers can analyze the case:
- Log upload date and time
- Device SN (Serial Number)
- Reboot frequency & scenarios (how often, what you were doing when it happens)
These help engineers locate the exact files and diagnose efficiently. If logs indicate a software cause, we’ll provide a workaround or release an update to reduce or eliminate the issue.
