Weather Radar Apps on CHIGEE Display

CHIGEE Display does not support installing third-party apps directly. To use a weather radar app, you must run the app on your phone and display it on CHIGEE Display via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Why you can’t “install” weather apps on CHIGEE Display

CHIGEE Display works as a CarPlay/Android Auto display. These systems only show apps that the phone OS officially allows on the car interface (for safety and compatibility).
So if an app doesn’t support CarPlay/Android Auto, it won’t appear on CHIGEE Display.

What to do

Step 1: Use a CarPlay / Android Auto compatible app

If your current weather app does not support CarPlay/Android Auto:
  • Option A: Contact the app developer and request CarPlay/Android Auto support.
  • Option B: Switch to a compatible weather radar app (recommendations below).

Step 2: Confirm the app appears on CarPlay / Android Auto

  • CarPlay (iPhone): If the app supports CarPlay, it will appear in your CarPlay app list and can be opened on the display.
  • Android Auto (Android): Compatible apps appear in Android Auto’s app launcher. (Android Auto’s weather app options may be more limited.)

For Apple CarPlay (iPhone)

  • Weather on the Way (route forecast + live radar on CarPlay)
  • MyRadar (CarPlay weather maps/radar)
  • Drive Weather (with Live Radar) (CarPlay integration; route weather + radar)
  • Weather Navigation for Car (live radar on CarPlay)

For Android Auto (Android)

  • Weather & Radar (Android Auto compatible; shows radar)
  • MyRadar (available on Android Auto; availability may vary by region/device)
  • Weather Navigation (Android Auto weather radar app)
  • The Weather Channel (Android Auto support; includes radar features like “Trip View”)
  • Drive Weather (lists Android Auto support on its official site)
Note: App availability and CarPlay/Android Auto support can change by region, app version, and OS version. If you don’t see the app, update the app + phone OS, then reconnect.

FAQ

Why can I use the app on my phone but not on CHIGEE Display?
Because CarPlay/Android Auto only allow approved app types on the in-car interface. Many weather apps do not support Android Auto yet.

Can CHIGEE make an app appear on the display?
No. This is controlled by Apple CarPlay / Google Android Auto and the app developer’s implementation (Android Auto weather apps follow Google’s car-app framework).

What if my preferred weather radar app isn’t supported?
Contact the app developer to request CarPlay/Android Auto support, or switch to one of the compatible apps listed above.
