Why Doesn't AIO-5 Play for BMW Display Lean Angle on Old BMW Models?
If you notice that your AIO-5 Play for BMW isn't displaying lean angle data, here‘s what you need to know.
How Lean Angle Display Works
The AIO-5 Play for BMW is designed to read and display lean angle data from your motorcycle's factory lean angle sensor through the BMW Nav Prep.
Limitations with Older BMW Models
- The older BMW motorcycles with mechanical instrument clusters do not have dedicated factory lean angle sensors.
- While some of them feature an IMU (6-axis sensor): The IMU manages various electronic control systems, including lean angle calculation internally.
- However, this data is only accessible through professional diagnostic equipment and cannot output data externally, making it impossible for the AIO-5 Play for BMW to access this information.
