Another Review - Long Term Long Distance Usage

Have had the AIO-5 since Feburary. Done a few day rides since then. Last week I was on a 7 day, 3,500km trip where I got to see how durable and reliable this unit is.

I use the Scenic app for navigation. I also logged my odometer and trip meters every day. So, when I got home, the total for the trip on the AIO was the same as what the bike odometer and the Scenic app had logged. So, that's good.

TPMS is good. No issues.

Still annoyed that I cannot use my Apple Mac computer to read the MicroSD card that the AIO uses to record the cameras' footage. I have to borrow a Windows PC in order to download the MicroSD card contents to my NAS for later perusal.

Forget about using the app. When you have 256gb of data and you have to have the app connected via Bluetooth, this means a long and tedious process of scrolling through each video and you have to be with the bike in order to do this. ie. no downloading to a computer and going through it in the comfort of your study or whereever your computer is situated.

The instructions for finding and locking a video need work. I couldn't figure it out. I spotted a speed camera and I wanted to save that period of the ride in case I get a ticket later on. It's most likely overwritten as it was a 7 day, 3,500km (about 2,000 miles) ride.

And I got to test it in the wet. The screen didn't react to the rain but I turned it off via the button on the right just in case it did something weird.

I have the wireless remote. I gave up on trying to scroll through the apps or even to answer my phone with it. Maybe it needs charging, I don't know but there were no error messages or alerts to advise me of this. The unit wouldn't respond properly. It's easier and more reliable to simply use the buttons across the top.

Also, with my heavy gloves on the buttons felt vague. No real tactile feel to indicate that I'd pressed them.

I wonder if they'll develop it any further. Chigee seems to be more about developing products for BMW bikes.

Anyway, overall it's a solid unit. Like any start-up it has its niggles and no doubt Chigee will release a better unit for general purpose (non-BMW) motorcycling sometime in the future.
