Chigee AIO-5 Play can no longer connect
I sent a ticket to the Chigee support folks, but as I’m on a road trip thought I’d cast a net to the wider community as well.
I have a Chigee AIO5-Play mounted in the OEM Nav cradle on my BMW R1250GS, and the Chigee will no longer display CarPlay from my iPhone 14+ (iOS 18). It has worked fine for weeks, but after a reset today (and successful re-connection and flawless operation for a few hours), it dropped out of CarPlay while navigating (via Scenic) and will no longer display phone mirroring. The Chigee says it’s connected on the pairing screen (“Conn:[phone name]”), and my phone says it’s paired as well, but the CarPlay icon just spins and spins without resolving to the CarPlay screen. I have tried a reset, and “forgotten” the connection on my phone, and the device seems to re-pair successfully (including all confirmations on both the Chigee and iPhone), but the CarPlay icon just keeps spinning for over a minute without ever displaying the CarPlay screen. I updated the Chigee firmware today to the latest (v1.38 IIRC) as well, but it did not resolve the problem.
I’m using this as my primary nav on this trip and am a bit stuck until I can get this resolced. Would very much appreciate any assistance the folks here are able to provide as well, thanks much in advance!
