Some BMW motorcycles need CGRC CAN to use the Wonder Wheel with a compatible CHIGEE Display. These motorcycles do not provide the required native control behavior through the BMW navigation connection.
Supported models
The table below lists the BMW models and years identified in this guide as needing CGRC CAN for CHIGEE Wonder Wheel control.
BMW model | Model years | Requirement |
K1600 series | 2011–2023 | CGRC CAN |
R1200 RT | 2010–2017 | CGRC CAN |
R1250 RT without TFT | 2020 | CGRC CAN |
Check your exact motorcycle and connector before ordering CGRC CAN. Do not extend these model-year findings to other configurations.
Limitations
On the listed BMW motorcycles, native control may be limited by mode switching or missing Wonder Wheel signals on the 3-pin navigation connection. CGRC CAN uses a different supported control interface.
Using CGRC CAN on K1600 and RT motorcycles can make the Wonder Wheel operate both the BMW instruments and the CHIGEE Display. Read BMW K1600 and RT Wonder Wheel compatibility before buying.
The BMW control design cannot be fully separated by the CHIGEE Display. The linked guide explains the trade-off and available control options.
