Do I Need to Pay Additional Fees to Use the 4G Feature?

The AIO-6 LTE includes an IoT SIM card in selected countries/regions. This card comes preloaded with 2GB of data, valid for 180 days from the date of device activation.

  • When using a CHIGEE-provided SIM card, no service fee is required during this period.
  • After 6 months, you can easily top up additional data via the CHIGEE app.

For customers in Canada and the United Arab Emirates, CHIGEE does not provide a free SIM card with the AIO-6 LTE.

Why Some Countries Do Not Include a SIM Card

Due to telecom regulations and restrictions, CHIGEE cannot provide preloaded IoT SIM cards in every market. Licensing rules, roaming agreements, or local carrier limitations may prevent us from offering bundled SIMs in certain countries.

  • In these regions, you can insert your own local SIM card to use the 4G feature.
  • However, please note that a CHIGEE 4G Service Fee will still apply (see below).

Using Your Own SIM Card

Prefer to use your own SIM card? That’s absolutely fine β€” but please be aware:

  • After the first 6 months, a $50/year or $30/180 days service fee will be required to keep 4G features active.
  • If you choose not to pay this fee, 4G features will be disabled, but all non-4G functions of the AIO-6 will continue to work.

Why Is There a 4G Service Fee for AIO-6 LTE?

Even with your own SIM card, key 4G functions depend on CHIGEE’s dedicated cloud infrastructure, not just raw mobile data.

The service fee supports:

  1. CDN Acceleration – Ensures low-latency, stable data transmission worldwide, critical for live tracking, video previews, and app syncing.
  2. Cloud Forwarding & Server Maintenance – Data is securely processed and relayed in real time, reducing delays and improving reliability across different mobile carriers.
  3. Core 4G Features – Including:
    • Real-time GPS tracking
    • Remote camera access & video previews
    • Two-way communication between app and device
    • Cloud syncing of riding records and incidents

Without this service, 4G-dependent features will not function, though the device itself remains fully usable in non-4G modes.

Alternative Option: AIO-6 Max

If you do not wish to use or maintain 4G functions, consider the AIO-6 Max.

  • This model does not include 4G functionality and therefore does not require the 4G service fee.
