Lean Angle, RPM, or Other BMW Data Not Displayed on the CHIGEE Display

If you notice that the lean angle, engine RPM, speed, or other BMW data is missing from the CHIGEE Display’s professional dashboard interface, this article will explain the reasons and what you should know.

Data Source of the Professional Dashboard Interface

The CHIGEE Display can only read and display data that BMW allows to be transmitted through the BMW Nav interface.
As long as any data appears on the professional dashboard (e.g., speed, RPM, gear), it means that the CHIGEE Display has successfully established a connection with your BMW and is functioning correctly.

Lean Angle

  • Only the AIO-6 MAX/LTE includes a built-in lean angle sensor. These models can measure lean angle directly from the display itself. Adjust Tilt Angle Source for BMW Dashboard
  • All other CHIGEE Display models do not have a built-in lean angle sensor. For these devices, lean angle data can only be shown if it is transmitted from your BMW.

Why Some Data May Not Be Displayed

There are two main reasons why certain data is missing:

  1. Lack of Original BMW Sensors
Some BMW motorcycles are not equipped with specific sensors, such as a lean angle sensor (IMU - Inertial Measurement Unit).
If BMW does not generate this data, it cannot be transmitted to external devices, including the CHIGEE Display.

  2. BMW Data Transmission Restrictions
Even if your BMW is equipped with an IMU and can calculate lean angle or other values internally, BMW may restrict this data from being transmitted via the Nav interface.
In many cases, such data is only accessible through BMW’s official diagnostic tools and is not available to third-party devices.

Known Affected Models (Examples Only)

  • 2013 BMW R1200GS
  • 2016 BMW R1200GS
  • 2013 BMW R1200GS Adventure
  • 2016 BMW R1200GS Adventure
(Other models may also be affected.)

Important Notice

Missing lean angle, RPM, or similar data on the CHIGEE Display is due to the motorcycle’s original hardware configuration and BMW’s data access restrictions.
This is not a limitation of the CHIGEE Display itself.
