BSD Not Accurate or Not Working: Setup & Calibration

BSD Not Accurate or Not Working: Setup & Calibration

If the Blind Spot Detection (BSD) function on your Chigee Display is not accurate or seems not to work, please follow these steps to ensure proper setup and calibration.

1) Verify BSD Setup (Do This First)

Please follow the official BSD setup guide. Make sure that:

Open Settings → Safety → BSD and confirm:
  • BSD: Enabled
  • Sensitivity: High
  • Speed Activation: Always On (or your preferred threshold)
Also ensure the rear camera is connected, clean, and not blocked by luggage, tail bags, or mud.

2) Fine-Tune the Rear Camera (Accuracy Tuning)

Detection accuracy may vary depending on the installation height and camera angle. You can fine-tune the rear camera to reduce false or missed alerts.

  • Too many false alerts (far vehicles trigger)
→ Slightly tilt the rear camera downward.

  • Nearby vehicles not detected
→ Slightly tilt the rear camera upward.

Tips:
  • Keep the camera level left-to-right (no roll).
  • Minimize vibration (use a stable mount).
  • After any adjustment, test at typical speeds with normal traffic.

3) Firmware Update

If BSD never triggers under any condition:
  1. Connect the device to Wi-Fi (or follow your model’s update method).
  2. Update to the latest firmware.
  3. Reboot the device and re-check BSD in Settings.

4) Reset Device & Re-Setup BSD (If Still Not Working)

If steps 1–3 don’t resolve the issue:
  1. Perform a factory reset on the CHIGEE Display.
  2. Reconnect the rear camera, then enable BSD and repeat Step 1.
  3. Re-calibrate camera angle per Step 2, then test on road.
