Touchscreen Glove Compatibility & Tips

Touchscreen Glove Compatibility & Tips

The CHIGEE Display features a high-brightness IPS capacitive touchscreen, similar to those used in modern smartphones. However, unlike phones, the CHIGEE Display is engineered specifically for motorcycle use, which comes with unique environmental and safety challenges.

  • Touchscreen-compatible gloves
Preferably made of rubber or synthetic leather with touchscreen pads on the fingertips
These allow for accurate control of the display even while riding

  • Motorcycle gloves with conductive material
Specifically designed for use with touchscreens

  • Fabric-only gloves (e.g., wool, cotton, or standard textile gloves without touch points)
→ These do not conduct electrical signals, making it difficult or impossible to operate the display

Why Some Gloves Work on Phones but Not on CHIGEE

You may find that certain touchscreen gloves work well on your smartphone but struggle to interact with the CHIGEE Display. This is because:

  • Motorcycle environments are more complex — vibration, wind, sunlight, and gloves with thick insulation can reduce precision.
  • CHIGEE prioritizes touch accuracy over extreme sensitivity to avoid accidental presses while riding. If sensitivity were too high, bumps and unintended brushes could cause frequent false touches, compromising safety.

This means the CHIGEE Display may require more deliberate and firm touch inputs than your phone.

💡 Tips

  • Check the glove label for terms like “touchscreen compatible” or “conductive fingertips
  • If your current gloves are not responsive, you can try glove touchscreen stickers as a temporary solution
