You can update Chigee Display to the latest official firmware or try an early test (beta) firmware. Beta gives you new features sooner but may contain unexpected bugs—even after internal testing.
Steps to Update (Official Firmware)
1. On the main screen, go to Settings → System Update.
2. Tap Check for Updates.
3. Tap Select Wi-Fi (phone hotspot or home Wi-Fi).
4. Enter the Wi-Fi password and connect.
Note: Some rare/special characters in Wi-Fi passwords may not display correctly. If connection fails, change the router password (use common characters) or connect to another Wi-Fi.
If a new firmware is found, tap Download & Install and wait for the process to complete. The device will reboot automatically.
Try the Test (Beta) Version — Optional
⚠️ Beta = early access. Features arrive sooner, but you might encounter unexpected issues.
1. Go to Settings → System Update.
2. In the bottom-right corner, tap Check the Test Version.
Tips & Troubleshooting
- ⚠️ Keep the device powered throughout the update (don’t unplug or power off).
- If download is slow/stuck: move closer to the router or use a different hotspot.
- If install fails: reboot the device, switching to a more stable network connection (such as a mobile hotspot) , and retry. Should the issue persist, we recommend using a different MicroSD card (formatted after insertion) for the firmware download and update process, as the CHIGEE display's built-in eMMC memory does not support OTA updates and requires an external MicroSD card to complete this operation. Important Note
Even for the AIO-6 LTE, the update process uses Wi-Fi only. The built-in IoT SIM card is not used during system updates, so it will not consume any of your SIM card’s data.
