Important Notice: CGRC CAN Required for Wonder Wheel Control in Specific BMW Models

For most BMW motorcycles, the Chigee Display can connect directly to the BMW Navigation Preparation (Nav Prep) and support native Wonder Wheel control.
However, some BMW models require the additional CGRC CAN module to enable Wonder Wheel control due to unique design constraints. These limitations are due to the design of BMW motorcycles, and CHIGEE is unable to provide any fixes for this issue.

Affected BMW Models:

• 2011-2023 K1600 series
• 2010-2017 R1200 RT
• 2020 R1250 RT(no TFT)

Why CGRC CAN Is Required

  1. Unique Control Logic
    • Some BMW models prevent switching between TFT and NAV modes.
    • Others do not transmit Wonder Wheel signals through the 3-pin navigation channel.
  2. Impact on Chigee display
    • The Chigee display cannot directly connect with the Wonder Wheel on these models.
    • To enable Wonder Wheel control, you must purchase the CGRC CAN module.

Important Note for K1600 & RT Series Users

When using the BMW Wonderwheel with the CGRC CAN, it allows control of the CHIGEE Display. However, the Wonderwheel is originally designed to control the BMW instrument cluster, and on K1600 and RT Series motorcycles, this setup may result in simultaneous control of both the BMW instrument cluster and the CHIGEE Display due to the unique control logic of these models.
