The Chigee CGRC CAN remote controller works by tapping into your bike's CAN-bus, analyzing the signals from the switches, and translating them into commands to control the AIO-5 Lite.
Please note that the Chigee CGRC CAN is specifically designed to work with BMW motorcycles that come equipped with the Wonder Wheel feature. And CGRC-CAN can be paired with AIO-5 only.
During setup, all you need to do is plug the CGRC CAN into one of two module interfaces: either the 4-pin port for the RDC module, which handles tire pressure monitoring, or the 8-pin port for the DWA module, which is the bike's anti-theft alarm system.
Most BMW motorcycles with the Wonder Wheel typically have both the RDC and DWA modules installed, but their locations can vary across different models. That's why we offer 4-pin and 8-pin connector options for the CGRC-CAN - to ensure straightforward installation tailored to your bike's configuration.
Our online product guides provide general recommendations as a reference point. However, we advise inspecting your specific motorcycle to determine the ideal pin configuration for convenient installation and compatibility with your existing setup.
For instance, while our guide may suggest R1200RT owners get the 8-pin version to connect a DWA module, if upon inspecting your bike you find the 4-pin RDC module is more accessible, opt for the 4-pin CGRC-CAN interface instead.
It's worth noting that some BMW owners may have chosen not to install certain modules during the purchase. Therefore, before buying the CGRC-CAN, we recommend carefully checking the module locations on your motorcycle.
