Notice for K1600 &1200RT & 1250RT & R1300RT Owner: Wonderwheel Compatibility
When using the BMW Wonderwheel with the CGRC CAN, it allows control of the CHIGEE Display. However, the Wonderwheel is originally designed to control the BMW instrument cluster, and on K1600 and RT Series motorcycles, this setup may result in simultaneous control of both the BMW instrument cluster and the CHIGEE Display due to the unique control logic of these models.
Compatibility Details
1. RT/K Series with Mechanical Instruments (2011-2021 K1600 series / 2020 R1250 RT / 2016-2017 R1200 RT)
- Simultaneous control occurs only in the Secondary Settings Interface of the BMW instrument cluster.
- If this limitation is acceptable to you, the CGRC CAN is a suitable option.
- If not, we recommend choosing the CGRC PRO Remote. CGRC PRO Remote is a Bluetooth handheld/handlebar remote that directly controls the CHIGEE Display via buttons. It does not use the BMW Wonder Wheel or the bike’s CAN bus, so it avoids interference with BMW instruments.
2. RT/K Series with TFT Instruments (2021-2023 R1250 RT / 2022-2023 K1600 models / 2022-2023 K1600B / R 1300RT)
- Simultaneous control occurs across all interfaces of the BMW instrument cluster and CHIGEE Display.
- We strongly recommend avoiding the CGRC CAN for these models. Instead, opt for the CGRC PRO Remote for compatibility without interference.
Why These Issues Occur
These limitations are inherent to the design of BMW motorcycles. Unfortunately, CHIGEE cannot offer a solution to resolve this issue.
