Notice for K1600 & 1200RT & 1250RT & R1300RT Owner: Wonderwheel Compatibility

Notice for K1600 & 1200RT & 1250RT & R1300RT Owner: Wonderwheel Compatibility

For specific BMW models (K1600 series and RT series), if you want to control the Chigee device using the original BMW Wonder Wheel, you MUST purchase the CGRC CAN module.
However, installing the CGRC CAN on these specific bikes results in a "Simultaneous Control" conflict. Because the bike’s internal protocol shares data channels, rotating the Wonder Wheel will control both the BMW dashboard and the Chigee device at the same time.

Solution Guide: Which Controller Should You Choose?

  • Option A: Prioritize Integration (Select CGRC CAN)
    • Best for: Users who want a clean, factory look and strictly avoid adding extra remotes to their handlebars.
    • Trade-off: You must be willing to accept that your BMW dashboard may change while you are scrolling through the Chigee interface.
  • Option B: Prioritize Isolation (Select CGRC PRO Remote)
    • Best for: Users who want zero interference with their bike's settings.
    • Trade-off: Requires installing the separate CGRC PRO wireless remote on your handlebars.
    • Result: The Chigee device operates completely independently of the BMW system.

Disable/Enable CGRC CAN Control with BMW Turn-Signal Button

If you own an AIO-6 series device and choose the CGRC CAN, you can manage the conflict via software:
  • How it works: Long-press the BMW Turn-Signal Cancel Button to instantly Enable or Disable the CGRC CAN input.
  • Benefit: This allows you to temporarily "mute" the Wonder Wheel's input to the Chigee device when you need to adjust your bike's settings without distraction.
    • Availability:
AIO-6 Series: Supported on Firmware v1.6.6 or higher.
AIO-5 Series: Not yet supported (Coming soon in future updates).

2. RT/K Series with TFT Instruments (2021-2023 R1250 RT / 2022-2023 K1600 models / 2022-2023 K1600B / R 1300RT)

  • Simultaneous control occurs across all interfaces of the BMW instrument cluster and CHIGEE Display.

Why These Issues Occur

These limitations are inherent to the design of BMW motorcycles. Unfortunately, CHIGEE cannot offer a solution to resolve this issue.
