Locate DWA and RDC Connector

Locate DWA and RDC Connector

During setup, all you need to do is plug the CGRC CAN into one of two module interfaces: either the 4-pin port for the RDC module, which handles tire pressure monitoring, or the 8-pin port for the DWA module, which is the bike's anti-theft alarm system.

Locate the DWA-connector(8-pin)

R 1200 R, R 1200 S, R 1200 ST, and R 1200 RT

The DWA module is located in a small compartment beneath the rear half of the seat, in front of the tail light. Note the wiring harness plug connected to the DWA module.

R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure

Remove the plastic luggage rack located under the rear seat to access the DWA connections.

Locate the RDC-connector(4-pin)

R 1200 GS, R 1200 ADV, R 1250 GS, R 1250 ADV

The RDC module is located beneath the rear seat. Please avoid mistakenly connecting CGRC CAN to the ABS tilt angle sensor.

R 1200 RT

The RDC module is located beneath the rear cowl. You'll need to remove the seat to access the RDC connections.

R 1200 RS

The RDC module is located beneath the pillion seat.

For 2022 K1600 and 2023 1250RT models, installing the CGRC-CAN may cause control integration conflicts with the BMW TFT display. We recommend not purchasing the CGRC-CAN for these model years and instead choose our Wireless Remote Control option.
As for the R 1300 GS, it is currently incompatible as the applicable pin port is not 4/8 pins. We are actively developing a CGRC-CAN solution specifically designed for R 1300 GS. Due to necessary component procurement, we anticipate the R 1300 GS compatible CGRC-CAN to be released around June-July 2024. We kindly ask for your patience and encourage you to stay tuned for updates on our Facebook page and official website.
