New AIO-6 Screen Looks “Bubbly” or Peeling? (Not a Defect)
Summary
If you see what looks like air under the screen—often at a corner—it’s almost always the shipping films, not a lamination failure. Every new AIO-6 ships with two protective layers on the display:
a black dust film around the viewing area, and
a transparent plastic film on top.
The clear film can trap a bit of air and may look like the screen is lifting. Peel off the transparent film and the screen will be clear.
Applies to: AIO-6 (LTE / Max)
What You’ll See
A small bubble, lift, or “air” patch—commonly at a corner/edge (e.g., lower-right).
No lines, no liquid, and the display works normally underneath.
Why It Happens
The top transparent film is a removable shipping protector. Minor air pockets are common and do not indicate a screen or glue problem.
Fix — Remove the Transparent Film
Power off the device for safety.
Look for a film edge or pull tab at a corner.
Peel the transparent film slowly from one corner across the screen.
Wipe the glass with a clean microfiber cloth.
After removal, the screen should appear perfectly clear.
Important Notes
Do not pry under the glass or attempt to “press out” bubbles—this is just the outer film.
The black dust film is also a protective layer present on some units. If present, it can be removed as well; only peel films that lift cleanly from the surface.
Never use blades/metal tools on the glass.
Still See Bubbles After Removing the Film?
Clean the surface (no residue).
Check in bright light to confirm no film remains.
If bubbles remain under the glass or you see lines/liquid, contact support:
