Applies to: CHIGEE displays using CarPlay or Android Auto with a Bluetooth headset/intercom.
Key idea: With CarPlay/Android Auto, audio comes from your phone to your headset. The CHIGEE display does not output app audio.
Fast fixes
Select the headset as the active output.
-
iPhone (CarPlay): Open Control Center → long-press Now Playing → tap the AirPlay (triangle/circles) icon → pick your headset.
Android (Android Auto): Press Volume → tap the output icon; or swipe down for Quick Settings → Media output → select your headset.
Turn up all volumes.
-
Phone media volume, headset volume, and app/nav guidance volume (many apps have a separate slider).
-
Disable Mute/Silent or Do Not Disturb/Focus modes.
Disconnect extra Bluetooth devices.
Power-cycle & re-pair.
-
Reboot phone and display; toggle your headset off/on.
-
If needed: Forget the headset on the phone, re-pair cleanly.
iPhone (CarPlay)
Android (Android Auto)
Helmet intercom notes
Clean re-pair (when issues persist)
- On the phone, Forget the headset.
-
On the headset, clear pairing memory (follow the headset manual).
-
Reboot phone and CHIGEE.
-
CarPlay: pair Headset ⇔ iPhone only, then start CarPlay.
-
Android Auto: pair Headset ⇔ Phone, confirm music plays; then pair Headset ⇔ CHIGEE display for the mic path; start Android Auto.
If there’s still no sound
- Test the phone ⇔ headset alone (without CHIGEE). If that fails, the issue is phone/headset.
-
Try a different headset or different phone to isolate.
-
Update phone OS, headset firmware (if available), and CHIGEE firmware.
-
Android users: avoid Android Auto Beta—use the stable release.
