Bluetooth Headset Setup for CHIGEE Display

Bluetooth Headset Setup for CHIGEE Display

This article explains how to properly connect your Bluetooth headset when using the CHIGEE Display with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

For Apple CarPlay Users

You only need to connect your Bluetooth headset directly to your iPhone.
Connection Flow: CHIGEE Display ⇔ iPhone ⇔ Bluetooth Headset
  • The CHIGEE Display does not connect directly to motorcycle headsets via Bluetooth.
  • Instead, your Bluetooth headset should pair with your iPhone, which handles audio output (e.g., music, navigation prompts).
  • As long as your headset is connected to your phone, audio will work correctly with the CHIGEE Display.
πŸ”ˆ Note: Only one headset can be connected at a time.

Info
For BMW: If you're interested in experimenting with an alternative connection setup, you may refer to The Stammering Biker’s audio configuration as a reference. However, please note that we do not provide any support or guarantees for this configuration. Compatibility may vary depending on your phone model, iOS version, and headset.

For Android Auto Users

To get the best experience when using Android Auto with the CHIGEE Display, your Bluetooth headset needs to connect to both devices:
  • Phone β†’ Headset – Handles audio output: music, navigation prompts, and phone calls.
  • CHIGEE Display β†’ Headset – Handles microphone input: enables voice commands and assistant functions.
How to Connect Your Headset to the CHIGEE Display on Android Auto
  1. On the CHIGEE Display, go to Settings > Peripherals > Headset.
  2. Select your headset from the list and pair it with the Display.
  3. Ensure your headset also remains paired with your phone for audio output.
⚠️ Important:
  • We cannot guarantee that all Android Auto systems support voice control via Bluetooth headsets.
  • However, you may try dual connection to see if it works with your specific headset model.
  • πŸ”ˆ Note: Only one headset can be connected at a time.
Known Compatibility Notes
1. Limited Compatibility with Some Brands:
Headsets from Cardo, Sena, Pactalk Edge, and similar brands may have transmission protocols that are not fully compatible with the CHIGEE Display.
Due to the wide range of models and firmware versions, we cannot maintain a full compatibility list.
If your voice assistant doesn't respond or connect correctly, it's likely due to Bluetooth protocol limitations that cannot be resolved through software updates.

2. Voice Assistant Activation Issues:
Some headset models do not support voice assistant activation via voice command while riding.
If that’s the case, please tap the voice assistant button on the CHIGEE Display to manually trigger voice functions.
