For a standard backplate installation, fit the mount and display first, route the cables, then test the system before securing the wiring. A BMW cradle or quick-release module has its own fitting instructions.
Before you start
Have the display, compatible mount, supplied reducer rings and installation tools, power harness and cable ties ready. For a wired installation, use a multimeter to identify ACC. Camera models also need their matching cameras and, where supplied, external GPS module.
CHIGEE does not provide an installation service. If you need help removing panels or connecting vehicle wiring, use a qualified local motorcycle installer and give them the manual for your exact model.
First complete the fit and cable-reach checks. The video below illustrates the installation workflow; enable English subtitles where available.
Fit the handlebar mount and display
The standard handlebar clamp fits 22–32 mm tubes. Use the supplied adapter that matches the actual tube diameter.
Fit the correct reducer around the handlebar.
Position the clamp and adjust its angle.
Attach the display to the compatible mounting assembly and secure the mounting screws using the supplied tools.
Check instrument visibility and turn the handlebars fully both ways. Adjust the position if anything touches or pulls.
The following video shows the standard handlebar clamp installation.
Fit cameras and external GPS
Skip camera installation on models without cameras. Use the cameras and connectors specified for your display.
Choose stable front and rear camera positions and clean the mounting surfaces.
Apply the supplied adhesive according to the camera instructions, with the arrow-marked side facing up.
Adjust the camera view and secure the fixing screws.
Route cables along the motorcycle’s existing wiring path, clear of heat, sharp edges and moving parts.
Seal unused front and rear camera connectors with waterproof protection as directed in the model’s manual. Exposed connectors can allow water ingress.
If your system includes an external GPS receiver, follow the GPS placement guide. AIO-5 Lite and XR-2 use external GPS modules.
Connect and test
Connect power following the battery and ACC wiring guide. Use the ACC testing steps before connecting yellow.
Switch ignition on and check the display, camera views and GPS reception where fitted.
Switch ignition off and check the shutdown behavior.
Once the tests pass, secure the cables with ties without pulling the connectors, then refit the removed panels.
Repeat the full steering and windshield clearance checks before riding.
