Before installing the CHIGEE Display onto your motorcycle, you can power the device through its USB-C port using a USB-A to USB-C cable. This allows you to complete the initial setup, perform firmware updates, or check functionality without connecting to the motorcycle power supply.
Testing Methods:
- Connect the USB-C port of the CHIGEE Display to a laptop or a USB wall charger using a USB-A to USB-C cable.
- Ensure that your power adapter supports at least 5V/2A output.
- For reliability, try different power sources for cross-testing (e.g., switch between laptop and charger).
⚠️ USB power is only for short-term testing and setup.
Troubleshooting:
If the device does not power on:
The issue may be caused by a faulty USB cable, connector, or power adapter.
Please try using a different cable or power source.
Please try changing the charging adapter or USB-A to USB-C cable if you can not turn on the unit by USB-C power source. The adapter's power output might be too high, triggering the device's protection system to limit power input.
Alternative Power Solution:
If USB-C power testing fails, we recommend powering the device directly:
From the motorcycle battery, or
By mounting the device into the BMW cradle base.
For AIO-6 series: Use the USB-C diagnostic port, located on the side of the device, next to the SD card slot. The Main Wiring Harness Port on the back of the device cannot be powered via a USB cable.
For AIO-5 Play: You can power the device via USB port.
For CHIGEE Display with camera: Powering the device via USB may result in insufficient voltage or power, causing the camera or GPS to not start properly. This is not a product defect. Please refer to the accompanying documentation for more details.
