Install an external tire pressure sensor on your CHIGEE Display

Install and pair both external tire pressure sensors on your CHIGEE Display, then check that they send pressure readings.

You can install external tire pressure sensors to monitor front and rear tire pressure on your CHIGEE Display.

Important: Do not overtighten a sensor. Tighten it only enough to prevent air leaks, then check the valve stem after installation.

Before you start

Have both external tire pressure sensors and the supplied anti-theft nuts and wrench ready for your CHIGEE Display.

Remove the valve caps from both wheels. Thread an anti-theft nut onto each valve stem, but do not install the sensors yet.

Install and pair the sensors

Pair the sensors on your CHIGEE Display as you install them, starting with the front wheel.

  1. On the home screen, tap the tire pressure data area.

  2. Tap Start pairing.

  3. When the front-wheel window flashes, screw either sensor onto the front valve stem.

  4. Stop when the sensor is tight enough to prevent air leaks. A reading in the front-wheel window confirms pairing.

  5. When the rear-wheel window flashes, screw the other sensor onto the rear valve stem.

  6. A reading in the rear-wheel window confirms rear sensor pairing.

  7. Use the supplied wrench to turn each anti-theft nut counterclockwise and secure both sensors.

The sensors are interchangeable before pairing. After pairing, keep each sensor on its assigned wheel. To switch them, start a new pairing process.

The video below shows the same installation and pairing sequence.

Check the sensor signals

The initial reading may not show the actual tire pressure. Ride at 30 km/h (18.6 mph) or above for a short distance before checking it.

The sensors send a signal when they detect a pressure change or wheel rotation.

Check both valve stems for air leaks.
