Solution: BMW Native Data and Wonder Wheel Control Issues

A reminder from a rider： Some BMW Nav Prep may have oxidized contacts, leading to poor spring connections. Please gently clean the BMW Nav Prep connector and the AIO-5 connector first to ensure good contact between them. 

If you cannot access BMW native data or control your device with the wonder wheel after installing the AIO-5 Play for BMW or CGRC LIN, please follow these steps to upgrade your BMW Navigator system to latest version .

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure your BMW Navigator Cradle is NAV5 or later.
  • Ensure CHIGEE device remains powered and keeping the screen on.

Steps to Resolve:

Please visit your local BMW service center and request an upgrade to the latest version of the pre-installed BMW navigation data package (0272).

  1. Locate 3-Pin Interface: Use ISTA to diagnose the BMW and verify the presence of a 3-pin interface (X740*1B). 

  2. Connect Computer to OBD: Connect your computer to the BMW's OBD port.

Reference Diagrams: Refer to the provided diagrams for guidance on the necessary equipment.





We recommend finding another BMW rider with a BMW Navigator Cradle to test your device on their motorcycle. This will help you determine whether the issue lies with CHIGEE or your BMW Navigator Cradle.
If you still experience issues with control or data after following these steps, the BMW Navigator Cradle may be damaged and require replacement.
