Connect the yellow CHIGEE ACC wire to a source that becomes live with ignition on and turns off with ignition off. Red and black provide the main battery power; yellow detects ignition.
Test the source
You need a multimeter set to DC voltage and your motorcycle’s wiring information. If you cannot identify the circuit safely, have a qualified installer test it.
Locate a suitable accessory circuit or fuse using the motorcycle’s wiring information.
Place the black meter lead on battery negative and use the red lead to measure the candidate source.
With ignition on, confirm the source supplies the expected vehicle battery voltage.
Turn ignition off and check that the source switches off. Account for any vehicle-controlled delay; a permanently live or intermittently controlled circuit is unsuitable.
Once identified, switch power off before making the connection and follow the motorcycle’s instructions for the connection method. Test startup and shutdown afterward.
See the full power connections for the red and black wires.
If there is no accessible fuse box
A tail-light harness may provide a suitable signal, but only after the same ignition-on and ignition-off tests. Do not assume every tail-light wire is a constant ignition-switched supply. Use the motorcycle’s service instructions to access the harness instead of following a generic panel-removal procedure.
BMW three-pin navigation connector
CHIGEE does not recommend tapping the yellow ACC wire into the BMW three-pin navigation interface. Use a verified ACC source instead. This guidance concerns the three-wire harness and does not replace the installation instructions for a dedicated BMW cradle or CGRC accessory.
