The AIO-6 LTE uploads GPS tracks through 4G for route, distance and timestamp playback in the CHIGEE GO App. A gap can mean GPS positions were never recorded, or recorded positions have not uploaded yet.
Ride records also sync from the AIO-6 to the platform through the CHIGEE GO App. Platform records downloaded to your phone become local records. For that workflow and GPX export, see View CHIGEE ride tracks and export GPX files.
How riding uploads work
The AIO-6 LTE needs stable power and GPS reception to record positions, plus a nano-SIM with valid data/service and 4G coverage to upload them.
While powered on and riding in a straight line, riding data uploads once every 10 seconds.
When a turn or direction change is detected, the upload frequency increases automatically.
After the turn, the upload interval returns to 10 seconds.
Parked reporting follows a separate 3-hour rule. See tracking while riding and parked.
Understand missing track segments
Cause | Effect | What can recover |
No GPS reception in tunnels, dense urban streets, heavy tree cover, metal fairings or shielded mounting positions | No positions can be logged for that period | A later connection cannot reconstruct positions that were never recorded |
Temporary 4G dead zone or outage | Positions that were logged cannot upload immediately | Logged sections can upload after 4G returns |
Power loss, loose connections, cranking voltage drops or low-voltage protection | Recording can stop during the interruption | Only data actually recorded can be uploaded later |
Wire the AIO-6 according to the manual using battery positive, battery negative and ACC, or use a compatible BMW Nav Prep power arrangement. After a mobile dead zone, leave the display powered for about a minute in a strong-signal area to finish pending uploads.
Check an incomplete track
If nothing was recorded, confirm you have an AIO-6 LTE, the display was powered during the ride, and it had GPS reception. Check the SIM is inserted and active and that the 4G icon is present for cloud uploads.
For a partial track, note where it breaks: a tunnel, forest, rural road or another location. Move into good 4G coverage and leave the display on briefly to complete pending uploads.
For frequent mid-ride gaps, inspect ignition-only feeds, loose connectors and voltage drops. Correct the power supply and check the power-off delay setting.
Test at another location or with a suitable known-working SIM, and update the AIO-6 firmware and CHIGEE GO App.
If gaps continue, contact us with your serial number, firmware and App versions, route screenshots and the times and places where the track breaks.
Why a phone may show a more complete track
Phones may combine multi-band GNSS, assisted GPS, cellular or Wi-Fi positioning and motion sensors. Some apps also match missing stretches to roads. A phone’s own battery can keep it recording through motorcycle power interruptions.
The AIO-6 LTE uses its own GNSS and motorcycle power. Loss of GPS or power can prevent recording; temporary loss of 4G can delay uploading otherwise recorded points. Those are different causes and need different checks.
