Why CHIGEE TPMS and a tire pressure gauge show different readings

Compare tire pressure under the same conditions and check persistent differences before assuming the readings are normal.

CHIGEE tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) readings and a separate pressure gauge can differ because of measurement timing, tire temperature or the gauge's calibration. A difference alone does not identify which reading is wrong.

Compare under the same conditions

  1. Check that both devices use the same pressure unit.

  2. Compare the same tire under similar temperature and measurement conditions.

  3. Make sure the TPMS reading has refreshed rather than comparing a stored reading with a new gauge measurement.

  4. Repeat the comparison with a reliable gauge if the difference persists.

Understand the accuracy specification

The CHIGEE TPMS sensor's stated pressure measurement accuracy is 0.01 bar. This is not a promise that its reading will match every pump or gauge by that amount under different conditions.

Do not treat every difference of 0.1–0.2 bar as normal. If the difference persists after repeat checks, contact us with the sensor model, both readings, units, tire temperature conditions and photos of the comparison.
