Why do CHIGEE and BMW tire pressure readings differ?

Compare CHIGEE sensor measurements with BMW RDC readings compensated to 20 °C (68 °F).

CHIGEE tire pressure sensors and BMW’s factory tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) can show different values. BMW RDC compensates pressure to 20 °C (68 °F); CHIGEE sensors show the measured pressure as tire temperature changes.

Compare the readings

The table below compares BMW factory RDC readings with readings from CHIGEE TPMS sensors, not BMW data passed through to a CHIGEE Display.

Measured pressure that changes with tire temperature

As tires warm during riding, measured pressure rises. When the tires cool, measured pressure falls. BMW temperature compensation and CHIGEE measurement can therefore produce different displayed values.
