The BMW 3-pin navigation interface connects navigation equipment such as the BMW Navigator. CGRC LIN uses this same dedicated interface, so confirm that your motorcycle has it before ordering.
Identify the connector
The 3-pin navigation connector is identified as X740*1B. Its housing may appear round or rectangular. Use the diagram and photo below to identify the interface; its position varies by BMW model.
Find the interface on your BMW
Look for the BMW 3-pin navigation interface near the handlebars or dashboard. Documented location examples include:
Inside the headlight
Right side of the front suspension
Front right of the fuel tank opening
Lower right side of the fuel tank
Below the right speaker
Below the left air intake
Use connector code X740*1B in ISTA, BMW’s diagnostic program, to find the exact position for your motorcycle. You can also check your BMW manual or ask an official BMW dealer to identify it.
Before connecting CGRC LIN
Confirm that the BMW 3-pin interface is present and check CGRC LIN compatibility for your display and motorcycle before purchasing. To connect CGRC LIN, you must disconnect the BMW navigation system from this interface.
CGRC LIN cannot share the 3-pin port with the BMW Nav Prep cradle or another accessory. See CGRC CAN and CGRC LIN connection options if you want to retain BMW navigation.
