CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN is not responding or stays on

Check module power, LED behavior, pairing and wiring, or safely disconnect a module whose indicator stays on after shutdown.

If CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN does not respond, check power, wiring and pairing separately. If its indicator stays on continuously after shutdown, power off the motorcycle completely, disconnect the module and contact us.

Note: The AIO-5 EVO, XR-2 and AIO-6 EVO do not support CGRC CAN. Check CGRC LIN display and motorcycle compatibility before troubleshooting a LIN installation.

Try these checks first

Start CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN troubleshooting by checking the connection and observing the indicator.

  1. With the motorcycle fully powered off, confirm the correct connection: CGRC CAN uses a matching RDC or DWA connector; CGRC LIN uses the dedicated BMW 3-pin navigation interface.

  2. Check that every connector is fully seated and the wiring is not loose or damaged.

  3. Start the motorcycle, allow the module to detect vibration, and observe its indicator. Some ports supply power only when the engine is running.

The indicator helps identify the next CGRC module check; a paired module still needs a working control or data connection.

Indicator

What to check

Blue

The module is paired with the CHIGEE Display. Check the expected function next.

Red

The module has power, but pairing may not have completed. Check Bluetooth pairing.

No light

Check power at the correct connector and the wiring. For CGRC CAN, continue with the no-light checks below.

Important: Power off the motorcycle completely before unplugging or reconnecting a module. Hot-swapping CGRC CAN can generate error codes and may cause the motorcycle to malfunction.

If the indicator has no light

For CGRC CAN with no indicator light, check the RDC or DWA installation before deciding that the module is faulty.

  1. Confirm CGRC CAN is attached to the correct RDC or DWA connector. Use the connector location and installation guide.

  2. Start the motorcycle and check for an indicator light. Turn the Wonder Wheel left and right and look for a green or blue flash.

  3. Power off the motorcycle completely, disconnect and securely reconnect CGRC CAN, then power on and check again.

If possible, a qualified installer can test CGRC CAN on another compatible motorcycle. Working on that motorcycle points toward checking the original RDC or DWA connection; failing on both points toward checking the module. Neither result alone establishes the final diagnosis.

A second motorcycle is not required to contact us. Send the installation details and indicator video listed below if the light remains off.

If the module is powered but does not respond

For a powered CGRC module, confirm Bluetooth pairing on the CHIGEE Display and select the correct CGRC control source.

  • CGRC CAN: test Wonder Wheel control. CGRC CAN does not provide native BMW data.

  • CGRC LIN: check Wonder Wheel control and supported BMW data separately. In the Professional Dashboard, check whether the expected BMW interface and readings appear. Use the CGRC LIN compatibility and data checks if readings are missing.

The module has never worked

If CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN has never worked, recheck the installation, supported motorcycle and display, and power in the tested ignition state. A port that needs the engine running may remain unpowered with ignition alone.

The module worked before

If CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN stopped working, check pairing again and inspect the connectors and wiring for damage or looseness. If the LED remains off after wiring and power checks, the module, motorcycle interface or power supply needs further diagnosis.

If the indicator stays on after shutdown

The CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN indicator may remain on briefly while the motorcycle and module shut down. The module uses vibration detection to wake after the motorcycle starts and detects movement, so the indicator does not necessarily turn off with the ignition.

If the indicator stays on continuously, the module continues to draw a small amount of battery power. Leaving it connected for an extended period can eventually drain the motorcycle battery.

  1. Power off the motorcycle completely.

  2. Unplug the CGRC module from the motorcycle.

  3. Take a photo of the back of the module and contact us for a check.

We will check the issue. If we confirm a module fault, we will arrange a replacement module.

Contact us

If CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN still does not respond, or its indicator stays on continuously, contact us with:

  • BMW model and year

  • CHIGEE Display model and firmware version

  • Module type: CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN

  • Connector used and photos of the module, its back and the wiring connections

  • LED behavior and a short video showing the symptom

  • Whether the module never worked or stopped after working normally
