Connect the CHIGEE OBD module directly to your motorcycle

Connect the CHIGEE OBD module directly to the motorcycle's OBD port; splitters and daisy-chains can cause connection failures.

The CHIGEE OBD module must connect directly to your motorcycle's OBD port. Do not use a splitter, extension hub or daisy-chain with other devices, because these setups can prevent the module from working correctly.

Connect the OBD module directly

  1. Locate the OBD port on your motorcycle.

  2. Disconnect any splitter or other accessory from the port.

  3. Plug the CHIGEE OBD module directly into the motorcycle's OBD port.

  4. Turn on the motorcycle and check whether the CHIGEE Display receives OBD data.

Why splitters and daisy-chains can cause problems

The motorcycle's OBD/CAN bus may not work reliably when multiple devices share the connector. Splitters or parallel connections can introduce impedance, addressing or timing conflicts and may prevent the module from waking or completing communication.

If the module still does not report data when connected directly, see CHIGEE OBD module requirements and motorcycle compatibility and check the module indicator and motorcycle compatibility.
