Is BMW Quick-Release Module compatible with my BMW?

The BMW Quick-Release Module is specifically designed for motorcycles equipped with BMW's Nav Prep 5/6. It connects directly to the Nav Prep and is powered by your BMW's electrical system.


We understand that many BMW owners want to ensure compatibility with their motorcycle. Here's what you need to know:

BMWs with a 3-Pin Navigation Interface but No Nav Prep:

If your BMW has a 3-pin navigation interface but is not equipped with Nav Prep, you can still make your motorcycle compatible with BMW Quick-Release Module. Simply install a BMW navigator cradle yourself. This addition will allow the module to integrate seamlessly with your bike, providing the full range of features.  Locate 3-Pin Navigation Interface

Reading Tire Pressure Data:

  1. If your BMW has a factory-installed TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), CHIGEE can directly read your TPMS data.
  2. If your BMW does not have a factory-installed TPMS, please consider purchasing the CHIGEE TPMS. Note that CHIGEE devices are not compatible with TPMS from other brands.

Adaptability:

  1. Perfect Compatibility: 
    1. CHIGEE devices seamlessly integrate with BMWs, providing native data access and Wonder Wheel control.
    2. Please ensure you've selected "NAV" in the Settings-Features-RC menu, rather than "CGRC."
    3. If your BMW is perfectly compatible but you do not see the "TFT-NAV" indicator on the upper right corner of your BMW TFT dashboard after connecting the CHIGEE, please activate SA 272 / option 272. 
  2. Software Not Supporting: 
    1. BMW's native data accessible, but Wonder Wheel control requires SA 272 / option 272 activation or CGRC CAN purchase.
    2. We have identified that some models do not support SA 272 / option 272 activation. Please refer to the compatibility chart for more information.
  3. Without Wonder Wheel: 
    1. For BMWs without Wonder Wheel, we recommend the CGRC PRO remote.
  4. Compatibility Notice: BMW K & RT Series
    1. Due to the larger 6-inch display, the BMW Quick-Release Module currently available is not compatible with BMW K1600/2014-2017 1200RT/2020 1250RT models — it simply doesn't fit the space. We’re planning to design and produce a dedicated Quick-Release Module specifically for K/RT series that will work with your navigation cradle. You can still go ahead and pledge the AIO-6 now. More details will be announced once the new module is ready.
    2. Please consider AIO-5 Play BMW version for proper fit and compatibility.

Native Data Reading & Wonder Wheel Control Issues:

Some BMW have pre-installed navigation systems with varying software versions. Even if your BMW has NAV Prep installed, it may still be unable to directly access Wonderwheel control or read native data as advertised. This inconsistency is due to software variations among different BMW models and production years. Contact a BMW-authorized dealer to activate SA 272 / option 272 for your BMW NAV PREP. Note: Native data reading is achieved by transmitting data from the BMW Nav Prep to the CHIGEE device. For certain models, BMW data is not present on the LINBUS for pre-2017 models. Consequently, if your Nav5/6 cannot read the original BMW data, the CHIGEE device will also be unable to access it.
