Using the CHIGEE OBD Module: Requirements & Supported Bikes
Your
motorcycle ECU outputs data on the
OBD port. The
CHIGEE OBD module reads that data and sends it to the
CHIGEE Display for live RPM, speed, temps, MAP, etc.
Connection rule (non-negotiable): Direct plug-in only. No splitters, no parallel devices, no daisy-chain. If it isn’t a straight connection to the bike’s OBD socket, expect “No Data” or unstable comms.
Quick Compatibility Logic
Protocol: Bike must speak ISO 15765-4 (CAN).
Connector:
-
Not recommended: ISO 9141/K-Line (too slow for real-time).
-
BMW: Use CGRC LIN instead of OBD for best results.
Available data always depends on the manufacturer’s ECU (some expose fewer PIDs). That’s normal and not a CHIGEE defect.
