For a three-wire CHIGEE installation, follow the original battery and ACC wiring first. An accessory controller such as HEX ezCAN, Denali CANsmart or ThunderBox needs a configuration appropriate to the exact display, controller and motorcycle.
Check what the output supplies
Controller behavior | Effect to check |
Cuts the red main supply at ignition off | The display loses power. Shutdown behavior, parking recording and LTE wake functions may be unavailable. |
Keeps the red main supply powered | Yellow must still receive a separate, valid ignition signal. Constant main power alone does not confirm correct operation. |
Changes output during engine starting or sleep | The display may restart or shut down. Check measured voltage and the controller’s configuration. |
Before connecting
Identify the CHIGEE harness connections and original fuse specification in the display’s manual.
Check the controller manufacturer’s documentation for the exact output, current limit and ignition behavior. Do not identify outputs by wire color alone.
Confirm what happens to both the main supply and ignition signal when the ignition turns off.
Have the installation checked, then test startup, shutdown and any parking functions you need.
There is no universal virtual-fuse value, soft-start setting or shutdown delay for all combinations. An electronic current limit is not the same as the original harness fuse.
If the display restarts or recording stops
Check the supply voltage, connections, controller event information and the model’s standard wiring. Do not increase the fuse rating or current limit as a generic fix. For parking features, first check whether the main supply remains available after ignition off.
