If the BMW Wonder Wheel will not control your CHIGEE Display, start with your control method and RC setting. The cradle connection, CGRC pairing, motorcycle configuration or electrical system may need checking.
Try these fixes first
Park and identify whether you use native BMW cradle control or a CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN module.
On the CHIGEE Display, open Settings > Peripheral > RC. Select Nav for supported native control or CGRC for the corresponding module.
If the BMW TFT shows TFT~Nav, press and hold Menu Up to select the navigation interface. Check whether the Wonder Wheel now controls the CHIGEE Display.
For native control, turn on Vertical Scrolling if you need full scrolling control. BMW analog dashboards do not show the TFT~Nav logo or use this TFT-based control method.
If the problem continues
Use the check below that matches your CHIGEE Display’s connection.
The TFT~Nav logo is missing
For a mechanical BMW Nav Prep cradle, seat the CHIGEE Display fully and lock the cradle with its original key. Check again for TFT~Nav.
If the logo appears only when the CHIGEE Display is pressed gently into place while parked, the contact fit may be unreliable. Have the cradle inspected; power alone does not prove a reliable control connection.
For BMW Nav Prep 5 or 6, confirm the cradle is genuine and unmodified. Identify the installed cradle with the BMW cradle guide. Aftermarket or modified cradles need a compatibility check.
You use CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN
For CGRC control, confirm the module is connected to a supported BMW interface. A steady blue indicator shows paired operation; flashing red or no light can indicate a pairing, power or connection problem.
Check the CHIGEE Display’s CGRC selection and Bluetooth pairing. Reconnect the module if needed, then check the indicator and control response.
Note: The AIO-5 EVO and XR-2 do not support CGRC LIN or CGRC CAN.
Control worked before and then stopped
If Wonder Wheel control previously worked on the same CHIGEE Display installation, report what changed. Check for loose accessible connections and, for CGRC, the indicator and pairing status.
Check BMW navigation preparation
A BMW dealer can check battery voltage, vehicle wiring, navigation-preparation software and Preparation for Navigation System (SA 272). SA 272 relates to native Wonder Wheel control, not native BMW data reading.
You can share the BMW ISTA activation demonstration with the dealer; the demonstration begins at 2:23. It is a reference for the dealer, who must verify the procedure for your motorcycle.
If native control is unavailable, a compatible CGRC CAN may provide an alternative. A test on another compatible motorcycle is optional.
