Wire AIO-6 cameras and parking features on a BMW

Check when the BMW Nav Prep cradle can power AIO-6 cameras and when battery and ACC wiring is needed for parked features.

A BMW Nav Prep cradle can power the AIO-6 and cameras while riding. Parking monitoring needs the correct battery and ACC wiring so power remains available after ignition-off.

Check the power requirements by model

This table applies to an AIO-6 fitted to a BMW Nav Prep cradle with the matching BMW Quick-Release Module and compatible cameras.

Model and wiring

While motorcycle power is on

After ignition-off

AIO-6 LTE with cradle power only

The display and cameras work; 4G and live view can work with valid data/service and coverage

No parked remote camera access, Parking Monitor or App vibration alerts when constant battery power is unavailable

AIO-6 Max with cradle power only

The display, camera recording and supported on-device functions work

No Parking Monitor when constant battery power is unavailable

AIO-6 with correct battery and ACC wiring

Normal powered operation

Parking Monitor can work with cameras and the correct settings; LTE remote features also require valid data/service, coverage and voltage above the protection threshold

Connect power for parking features

  1. Use the power cable supplied for your AIO-6 or quick-release installation.

  2. Follow the installation guide to connect battery positive, battery negative and ignition-switched ACC.

  3. Check that constant battery power remains available after ignition-off.

  4. Enable Parking Monitor and test a parked recording; for LTE notifications, also enable the App alert and check mobile service.

If you only need AIO-6 Max recording while riding, the powered BMW cradle can be sufficient. Add battery and ACC wiring when you need Parking Monitor. For LTE parked alerts, see vibration notification setup and troubleshooting.
