Fix inaccurate or non-working Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

Check camera setup, rear camera angle, firmware and calibration when BSD alerts are inaccurate or missing.

If Blind Spot Detection (BSD) on your CHIGEE Display is inaccurate or does not alert, first confirm that BSD is supported and enabled. Then check the rear camera position, sensitivity, activation speed and firmware before resetting the device.

1. Confirm BSD setup

  1. Follow the BSD setup guide and confirm the rear camera is connected, clean and unobstructed.

  2. Open the BSD settings and confirm that BSD is enabled.

  3. Check the sensitivity and speed activation options. For testing, choose a setting that matches the riding conditions, such as Always On if available.

2. Adjust the rear camera angle

Detection accuracy can vary with camera height and angle. Keep the camera level from left to right and mount it securely to reduce vibration.

  • Too many alerts for distant vehicles: Try tilting the rear camera slightly downward.

  • Nearby vehicles are not detected: Try tilting the rear camera slightly upward.

After each adjustment, check the view and test the system under normal traffic conditions. Do not rely on BSD alone when riding.

3. Check firmware and test again

  1. Connect the CHIGEE Display to Wi-Fi or use the update method supported by your model.

  2. Check for and install the latest firmware for the device.

  3. Restart the display, recheck the BSD settings and test again.

4. If BSD still does not work

Before performing a factory reset, make sure you have checked camera installation, settings and firmware. A reset clears device settings and pairing records, so you will need to set up your connections again.

If the issue continues, contact CHIGEE support with your display model, firmware version, rear camera installation position, BSD settings and a short video showing the missed or false alert.
