SR-1 radar: compatibility, setup and everyday use

Get started with SR-1: standalone or display use, installation, pairing, alerts, app updates and certifications.

SR-1 is a millimeter-wave radar system that helps you keep track of vehicles approaching from behind. Use it with the included warning lights, or pair it with a compatible CHIGEE Display for on-screen and speaker alerts.

Choose your setup

Standalone use

You don’t need a CHIGEE Display to use SR-1. The radar sends visual warnings through the two external indicator lights. The radar and lights do not produce sound.

With a CHIGEE Display

SR-1 pairs with AIO-5 and AIO-6 series displays for on-screen radar warnings, settings and sound through the display’s built-in speaker. You can use the radar and display without fitting the external indicator lights.

XR-2 does not support SR-1 screen pairing. If you use an XR-2 on your motorcycle, use SR-1 independently with its external indicators.

What’s in the standard kit?

  • SR-1 radar module.

  • Two external indicator lights.

  • Required wiring and mounting accessories.

Check the SR-1 product page for the package you’re ordering.

Install and connect SR-1

Follow the SR-1 user manual before fitting the system.

  • Mount the radar securely at the rear, horizontal and facing backward, 30–100 cm above the ground. Keep its view clear of luggage, body panels and other accessories.

  • Position the warning lights where you can see them from your normal riding position. Use your existing mirrors or the optional M10 warning light brackets.

  • Use the supplied harness and the standard battery and ACC wiring.

Power and wire your SR-1 radar covers standard wiring and links to a rider’s ezCAN installation video. The video is user-tested reference material; research any alternative setup for your own motorcycle. We recommend the manual’s standard wiring.

Pair a display and understand the alerts

On a compatible display, open Settings → Function → Blind Spot Monitoring → Millimeter-wave Radar to pair and enable SR-1. Enabling radar switches off camera-based BSD alerts.

Moving one display between two motorcycles

A display pairs with one SR-1 at a time. If each motorcycle has its own radar, moving the display does not automatically switch the radar pairing. Delete the previous radar pairing, then pair the SR-1 on the motorcycle you’re riding.

Where the sound comes from

Enable sound alerts on the compatible display to hear warnings from its built-in speaker. SR-1 alert sounds cannot be sent to a Bluetooth helmet headset, even if the headset is connected to your phone or display.

Choose your activation speed

The available activation speeds are 0, 10, 30 and 50 km/h. See Understand SR-1 alerts and settings for warning light behavior and other settings.

Keep using your mirrors and checking blind spots. Radar is an aid to rider awareness, not a replacement for those checks.

Updates, accessories and certifications

Update without a display

Using SR-1 on its own? You can still update its firmware by connecting it to the CHIGEE GO app.

Optional radar mirrors

CG Radar Rearview Mirrors combine a mirror and warning indicator. They are optional upgrades and are not part of the standard SR-1 kit unless selected at purchase.

Certifications

SR-1 has CE, FCC and waterproof certifications.

FAQs

Can I use SR-1 and CGRC Multi together?

Yes. You can use SR-1 and CGRC Multi together on your CHIGEE Display.

What should I check if alerts stop working?

Start with SR-1 radar not alerting or behaving unexpectedly. It separates power, indicator, display and alert issues so you can check the relevant part first.
