If your CHIGEE Display will not turn on, first check whether it receives power. The correct power method depends on the model and mounting setup. Use the checks below to narrow down whether the issue is the power source, cable, quick-release module or display.
1. Check the power source
Try the supported power method for your model and observe whether the screen backlight turns on.
Direct battery wiring: Use the included power harness and follow the installation manual.
BMW setup: The AIO-5 Play for BMW and compatible AIO-6 setups can receive power through a supported BMW navigation cradle.
CG Quick-Release setup: A compatible AIO-6 setup can receive power through the CG Quick-Release Module when it is connected correctly to the motorcycle battery.
USB-C test: Use USB power only for supported temporary testing. Do not ride with the waterproof port cover open.
If the backlight does not turn on, try another supported power method if available.
2. Isolate the likely cause
The display works with a harness or cradle but not USB
Try a different USB-A to USB-C cable and a stable power adapter. See Power the AIO-6 through USB-C for testing for AIO-6-specific limits.
The display works with USB but not direct battery power
Check that the wiring harness is connected according to the model's installation instructions and that the motorcycle battery and connections are in good condition. If you are unsure about wiring or the ACC connection, ask a qualified installer or motorcycle dealer to check it.
The display works with USB but not the CG Quick-Release Module
The quick-release module, its connection or the main power harness may be the cause. Have the connections checked and, if possible, test the display using the approved direct-power method described in the manual.
The BMW navigation cradle does not power the display
Check that the display is seated and locked correctly. If possible, test it in a known-working compatible BMW navigation cradle. If it still does not power on, the cradle, connector or display may need further diagnosis.
3. If the backlight turns on but the display does not boot
A backlight with no completed startup may indicate a firmware issue, especially after an interrupted update. Use only the recovery procedure and recovery package for your exact model:
Recover a CHIGEE Display with a backlit black screen — AIO-6 Max/LTE, AIO-5 Play, AIO-5 Play for BMW and XR-2.
Do not use a recovery package intended for another model. If the display still does not boot, record a short video of the behavior and contact CHIGEE support.
4. If no power method turns on the backlight
If the display shows no backlight with any supported power method, a hardware or power-system issue may need to be diagnosed. Contact CHIGEE support with your display model, power method, wiring or cradle setup, and a short video showing the checks you tried.
