Set up Wonder Wheel control with CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN

Select the control source, check BMW TFT and NAV behavior, and use Vertical Rolling Control in Android Auto.

CGRC CAN and CGRC LIN let the Wonder Wheel operate a compatible CHIGEE Display while retaining BMW instrument control. How the two displays respond depends on the motorcycle and connection.

Choose the control source

For a paired CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN module, select CGRC in Settings > Peripheral > RC on your CHIGEE Display. The Nav source is for a supported direct BMW navigation-cradle connection.

This CHIGEE input-source setting is separate from the BMW instrument’s TFT or NAV focus. Check display and module compatibility before configuring control.

Check TFT and NAV behavior

BMW TFT and NAV focus determine how supported BMW navigation connections receive Wonder Wheel input. The table separates that behavior from CGRC CAN control.

Connection

BMW control focus

BMW Nav Prep cradle or CGRC LIN

Use NAV focus for CHIGEE control on motorcycles that support separate TFT and NAV control. Use TFT focus for BMW instrument control. Use the BMW MENU button to switch focus.

CGRC CAN

NAV focus is not required for CGRC CAN to receive Wonder Wheel input.

Installing a supported CGRC module does not remove BMW instrument control. Some K1600 and RT models respond on both displays at the same time; see BMW K1600 and RT Wonder Wheel compatibility before relying on separate control.

Use Vertical Rolling Control in Android Auto

Vertical Rolling Control lets you move between the Android Auto application list and the bottom taskbar with the Direction Reset button.

  1. On your CHIGEE Display, open Settings > Remote Control.

  2. Turn on Vertical Rolling Control.

  3. In Android Auto, long-press the Direction Reset button to move the cursor down to the bottom taskbar.

  4. Short-press the Direction Reset button to move the cursor back up to the application list.

For the other Wonder Wheel actions, map zoom and volume limitations, see Wonder Wheel controls on the CHIGEE Display.

Check control and troubleshooting

These AIO-5 Lite demonstrations show Wonder Wheel control of the CHIGEE Display and BMW TFT on supported setups. Use the connection and model guidance above to interpret your motorcycle’s behavior.

If the module does not respond, follow CGRC CAN and CGRC LIN troubleshooting. For temporary CGRC CAN muting on supported firmware, follow Turn CGRC CAN Wonder Wheel control on or off.

FAQs

Does CGRC CAN require BMW NAV focus?

CGRC CAN does not require BMW NAV focus. Select the CGRC input source on your CHIGEE Display and check any model-specific simultaneous-control limitations.

Is the Android Auto long press the same as temporarily disabling CGRC CAN?

Vertical Rolling Control moves the Android Auto cursor. Temporarily disabling CGRC CAN is a separate feature with its own setting, supported firmware and 3-second button operation.
