Does your BMW need CGRC CAN for CHIGEE Wonder Wheel control?

Check native Wonder Wheel support and the listed BMW model-year limits before choosing a CGRC CAN connection.

A supported BMW can control a compatible CHIGEE Display through its navigation cradle without CGRC CAN. Other configurations require CGRC CAN. Check your motorcycle’s exact model, year, factory equipment and installed connection before buying a controller.

Check native Wonder Wheel support

The table below lists CHIGEE Display installations for native BMW cradle control. Use the corresponding motorcycle compatibility chart.

AIO-5 Play for BMW

Compatible BMW Nav Prep cradle

AIO-6 Max or AIO-6 LTE

BMW Quick-Release Module and compatible BMW Nav Prep cradle

Native Wonder Wheel control requires Preparation for Navigation System (SA 272) on supported motorcycles. SA 272 is not a requirement for native BMW data reading. A matching cradle and working power do not establish every control or data function.

Check models that need CGRC CAN

The table below lists the model-year configurations identified as needing CGRC CAN for CHIGEE Wonder Wheel control. It is not a complete list of every configuration that may need the module.

On these configurations, native control can be limited by mode switching or missing Wonder Wheel signals on the 3-pin navigation connection. CGRC CAN uses a different supported control interface. Check your actual motorcycle and connector before ordering; do not extend these year ranges to other configurations.

Review limits before ordering

CGRC CAN can make the Wonder Wheel operate both the BMW instruments and the CHIGEE Display on affected K1600 and RT configurations. Review BMW K1600 and RT Wonder Wheel compatibility for the exact instrument types, model years and control options.

The CHIGEE Display cannot fully separate the motorcycle’s shared control protocol. A temporary CAN mute option and a separate compatible remote have different trade-offs, described in that guide.

CGRC CAN provides Wonder Wheel control, not BMW data reading. The AIO-5 EVO, XR-2 and AIO-6 EVO do not support CGRC CAN. Use the CGRC CAN and CGRC LIN comparison and the CGRC LIN model and year table to check the display, connection and data functions separately.

If control does not work

For native BMW control, use the Wonder Wheel troubleshooting guide to check the RC setting, cradle connection and navigation preparation. Some configurations still need a compatible CGRC CAN module; confirm the actual equipment before purchasing.

For a CGRC connection, follow the CGRC CAN or CGRC LIN control setup guide. The CHIGEE control-source setting is separate from the BMW instrument’s TFT or NAV focus; CGRC CAN does not require NAV focus.
