CHIGEE OBD module suddenly stops reading data

Check the OBD indicator, connector and motorcycle-side conditions when the CHIGEE OBD module suddenly stops reporting data.

If your OBD module was previously working but suddenly stops displaying data on the CHIGEE Display — especially after your motorcycle has been parked for a while or has experienced a fault — there are a few key steps to check.

Step 1: Confirm OBD Module Connection

Check the indicator light on the OBD module:

  • Flashing blue light: The module is connected to the CHIGEE Display. This does not necessarily mean that motorcycle ECU data is being successfully read.

  • Flashing red light: The module is disconnected or not transmitting data properly

Step 2: Motorcycle-Side Check

A flashing blue light confirms the display connection, but it does not rule out a module or communication fault. Check the module, pairing, power supply and diagnostic connector. Also inspect your motorcycle for recent electrical issues, ECU errors or power-related faults that may prevent the OBD interface from transmitting data.

Some common causes:

  • Motorcycle battery voltage instability

  • ECU protection or fault modes

  • Loose or corroded OBD port connection
