Understand SR-1 alerts and settings

What SR-1 warning lights mean, how activation speed works, and where alerts appear with or without a display.

SR-1 uses radar to warn you about vehicles approaching from behind. The warning depends on the vehicle’s position and approach, as well as your settings.

Read the warning lights

  • Steady light: the relevant side indicator and rear warning light signal a detected vehicle in the corresponding rear-side area.

  • Rapid flashing: a collision warning signals a rapidly approaching vehicle. The warning lights flash to draw your attention.

A vehicle behind you does not always produce the same warning. Maximum detection range is not a fixed distance at which every vehicle triggers an alert.

Keep checking your mirrors and blind spots. Radar alerts assist your awareness; they do not replace those checks.

Adjust your settings

Park before changing settings. You can connect SR-1 to the CHIGEE GO app, or use the radar settings on a compatible CHIGEE Display.

Activation speed

Choose an activation speed of 0, 10, 30 or 50 km/h. Check this setting when investigating alerts that seem different at low and higher speeds.

Other radar settings

  • Sensitivity: adjusts how readily the system warns you.

  • Collision warning: controls collision warnings.

  • Rear warning light: controls the radar’s rear-facing warning light.

  • Left/right mirroring: changes the left/right warning mapping. Check your installation before changing it.

Alerts on a CHIGEE Display

With a compatible AIO-5 or AIO-6 display, you can receive on-screen radar warnings and sound from the display’s built-in speaker. The radar and standalone indicator lights do not produce sound themselves.

Radar alert sounds do not play through a Bluetooth helmet headset. Enabling millimeter-wave radar switches off camera-based BSD alerts.

See the SR-1 getting started guide for display compatibility, pairing and moving a display between motorcycles.

If alerts seem wrong

First separate a light or connection problem from a warning that appears only in certain traffic conditions. Note your activation speed, sensitivity and whether you’re using a display.

If you’ve already updated or reset the system, keep a note of the result so support can continue from there.

For step-by-step checks, see SR-1 radar troubleshooting.
