Your CHIGEE Display can show BMW factory tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) readings when the motorcycle sends them through a supported interface. You do not need extra CHIGEE sensors for supported BMW factory readings.
Before you start
The table below lists CHIGEE Display setups that can receive factory BMW TPMS data, subject to the motorcycle’s supported output.
CHIGEE Display | Connection |
AIO-5 Play for BMW | Compatible BMW Nav Prep cradle |
AIO-6 Max or AIO-6 LTE | BMW Quick-Release Module and compatible BMW Nav Prep cradle |
AIO-5 Play, AIO-5 Lite or a compatible AIO-6 standard-mount setup | CGRC LIN directly connected to the BMW 3-pin navigation interface |
The AIO-5 EVO and XR-2 do not support CGRC LIN or CGRC CAN. The motorcycle must have factory TPMS sensors and send their readings through the connected interface.
Check the connection and data source
For BMW Nav Prep tire pressure data on the CHIGEE Display, use these checks while parked.
Turn off the motorcycle before removing the CHIGEE Display from the cradle.
Visually inspect the display contacts, cradle contacts and accessible 3-pin connectors for damage, debris or loose connections.
Refit the CHIGEE Display securely.
Open Settings > Features > TPMS on the CHIGEE Display.
For factory data through BMW Nav Prep, select Nav in the data-source setting at the upper right.
Return to the dashboard and check whether tire pressure readings appear.
Note: The Nav data-source instruction applies to BMW Nav Prep. For CGRC LIN, check the settings for that connection rather than selecting Nav solely because the motorcycle is a BMW.
Do not clean or modify contacts yourself. Use BMW service documentation or an authorized service center for maintenance.
If it doesn’t work
If the CHIGEE Display shows speed or gear but no tire pressure, check whether your BMW has factory TPMS and sends that data through the interface. A BMW dealer can confirm the installed equipment.
If the motorcycle has no factory TPMS, check a compatible CHIGEE TPMS kit for your display. CHIGEE TPMS does not work with other brands’ sensors.
If supported data is still missing, contact us with your BMW model and year, CHIGEE Display model and firmware, connection and the readings that do appear.
FAQs
Can I use CHIGEE TPMS sensors from another brand?
CHIGEE TPMS is not compatible with sensors from other brands.
Why does speed appear but tire pressure does not?
Your BMW may lack factory TPMS sensors or may not send their readings through the connected interface. Working speed data does not establish TPMS support.
